FAQs
What types of classes does StudioSK offer?
StudioSK offers a variety of classes, including Yoga, Mat Pilates, and Reformer Pilates. Each class is designed to suit different fitness levels and goals, whether you're looking to improve flexibility, build strength, or find balance and relaxation.
Where are the classes located, as there are 2 locations?
Yoga and Mat Pilates classes are at the Mat Studio at 3/18 Ranelagh Drive, Mt Eliza.
Reformer classes are at our Reformer Studio at 3/7 Davies Avenue, Mt Eliza.
Do I need to have experience to join the classes?
Not at all! Our classes cater to all levels, from complete beginners to long-time practitioners.
If you’re new, our instructors will guide you through the basics to help you build confidence and progress at your own pace.
What should I bring to class?
For Yoga and Mat Pilates - Mats are supplied but feel free to bring your own. You may also like a drink bottle and towel.
For Reformer Pilates - Water bottle, towel, and Pilates grip socks are optional.
What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely.
Are the mat classes heated?
We have infared heaters at the Mat Studio which will be used over the winter months. However, we are not intending for the classes to be ‘hot mat’ classes.
What is Reformer Pilates, and how is it different from Mat Pilates?
Reformer Pilates uses a machine with springs, straps, and a sliding carriage to add resistance and assist with movements. This allows for greater variety in exercises, targeting strength, flexibility, and control.
Mat Pilates is practised on the yoga mat. It focuses on body weight and equipment such as hand weights, Pilates rings, balls and resistance bands, ideal for building core strength and improving posture.
What is ‘Bro-lates”?
Bro-lates is a mens only class led by Kate one of the Studio owners. It is an opportunity for men to come together and enjoy the benefits of Pilates. However, men are more than welcome to attend all of the other classes.
What is the ‘Hybrid’ class at the Reformer Studio?
The Hybrid class will be a fun combination of a reformer class with some mat elements sprinkled throughout. If you have attended Kate’s Pilates classes you will know that she is very creative, so expect lots of creativity and challenges throughout.
How do I book a class?
You can reserve your spot by booking your first class though our website. From there on, you can book through the Mindbody app. Spaces are limited, so we recommend booking ahead to secure your place.
